Information Technology and its Applications in Business is designed to serve as a textbook for the undergraduate students for B Com. It covers all aspects of computer science and Information Technology (IT) that apply to the study of commerce subjects.

The book has been divided into 2 modules (Theory and Practical). Module I starts with an overview of computer fundamentals, different types of software and their relevance to business. Following this, the book delves into explaining internet services and security measures. The module also talks about current computing paradigm including cloud and green computing and discusses business data handling covering topics such as data mining, artificial intelligence, application of machine learning in banking and finance, and more. The concluding chapter of the module focuses on the discussion of the Information Technology Act 2000 and cybercrimes. Module II provides an exhaustive practical section covering word-processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and their usage in business applications.

Reema Thareja is Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science, Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women, University of Delhi. An MCA in Software Engineering MPhil in Computer Science she has completed her PhD in improving data warehouse quality. She specializes in programming languages OS microprocessors DBMS multimedia web technologies.
