Description
Introduction to Nanotechnology is designed to serve as a textbook for undergraduate students of various disciplines. The book provides a detailed description of the fundamental principles of nanotechnology in an easy and effective manner. It also serves as a reference material for first year postgraduate students and as an easy guide for readers interested in exploring the field of nanotechnology.
Beginning with an introduction to basic concepts such as crystal structures, energy bands, and quantum mechanical aspects of nanomaterials, the book moves on to discuss nanomaterials such as fullerenes, carbon nanotubes, and their applications. It presents the basic concepts of physical, chemical, and biological methods of synthesis; various techniques of characterization of nanostructures such as electron and optical microscopy; use of nanomaterials in fabricating devices for different applications; and emphasizes the future prospects of nanotechnology in different fields.
