Description

Internal Security and Disaster Management form crucial components of the General Studies syllabus for the Civil Services Examination (CSE), conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and various State Public Service Commissions (PSCs). A review of previous years’ Mains examination questions reveals that the subject demands an analytical understanding of diverse security challenges and related topics, along with awareness of current developments. Through the e-learning resources accompanying this book, I have provided solutions to past questions to help aspirants develop the ability to analyze question requirements and frame effective answers, particularly for the Mains examination.

Authors often face dilemmas regarding chapter selection, topic coverage, and the depth of content. In this book, I have aimed to cast a wide net so that aspirants need not rely on multiple learning resources—whether online or offline—but can depend solely on this book to comprehensively cover topics related to India’s internal security challenges and various types of disasters and their management. At the same time, I have strived to maintain optimal depth in each topic, enabling aspirants to confidently respond to any related question to the examiner’s satisfaction.
