About the authors

Jyotiprakash Tamuli retired as Professor and Head Department of Linguistics Gauhati University. He did his doctoral research on lexical semantics at the University of Reading as a Commonwealth Academic Staff Scholar. He was also a Commonwealth Postdoctoral Fellow at Lancaster University where he worked on a scheme of PoS Tagging in Assamese. His teaching and research interests include Assamese grammar lexicography early literacy and multilingual education.

Mouchumi Handique studied English and Linguistics at Gauhati University. She is currently a doctoral research scholar in the Department of Linguistics Gauhati University where she also teaches postgraduate courses as a guest faculty. Her areas of interest are lexicography and word collocations in Assamese language usage.
