Description
Literary Concepts and Movements I encapsulates the socio-cultural and historical standpoints which shaped the literary sensibilities across centuries. Beginning with the balance and orderly structure of Classicism, the anthology focusses on religious strictures and their bearing on human life as envisioned in the movement called Scholasticism. Further, it transitions into Humanism, a celebration of human knowledge and potential as the literary works written during this period summed up the philosophical idea of Descartes’ “I think, therefore I am”. A glimpse into Enlightenment and the literary oeuvre unique to this movement will, surely, leave the young scholars craving for a deeper love of literature.
