Become a REaD Partner School with Oxford University Press!
You want every child to leave your school as a successful reader – you teach them the art, light the spark, and show them the worlds that are unlocked and doors that open by having reading and language skills.
We can help you!
Demonstrate your commitment to building a culture of reading, sharing the joy of books, and helping children become lifelong readers by joining us.
What do you need to do to become a REaD partner school?
- Sign up for the Oxford Big Read contest (across 3 levels) and make your students read an OUP supplementary reader: https://india.oup.com/oxfordbigread.
- Ensure that at least 100 children participate in the contest per level and there are 300 overall participants.
- Display Oxford Big Read banners and posters, provided by OUP, in your school premises.
- Submit some evidence of participation (pictures or videos of children completing their tasks).
- Submit top 15 entries of your school (5 best entries per level) to OUP. Your student entries will now compete with entries from the rest of the country for national and other countries for global competition. All conditions of Oxford Big Read will apply.
- The last date of submission for 15 entries across 3 levels is October 20, 2022.
Prizes to be won for being a REaD partner school:
All 15 selected students who have read an OUP supplementary reader and completed the task will be given access to Oxford Reading Buddy for 1 month: www.oxfordreadingbuddy.com. Oxford Reading Buddy ensures children will have access to a vast range of readers including OUP’s international offerings.
All 300 participants get e-certificates for participation (name of the child and name of the OUP book read to be provided by you).
Anytime, anywhere learning: All teachers involved in selection of 15 best entries from 300 participants will receive online professional development courses relevant to reading.
3 sets of dictionaries to be provided, one set per level of the Oxford Big Read contest
A physical certificate to display, showing your commitment to reading
